Geansai Gorm SEO Competition

Oct 29th, 2008 | By Tom | Category: News, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Do you think you’ve got what it takes to optimise a website to rank high in Google?

Well if you’d like a chance to prove your search engine optimisation skills Damien Mulley has an SEO competition running where participants must create a website on a brand new domain name and try to get it to the number one spot in Google. The keyphrase to rank for is geansai gorm which is blue jumper in Irish. For full competition rules check out Damiens blog. And if that doesn’t sound like a fun enough challenge Blacknight have made things even more interesting and are offering prizes to winner.

Good luck to everyone who enters!

  1. It’s just for fun but I have a feeling that none of the new domains will rank #1 but some other old website that blogs about it using the term itself. It’s been only 24 hours and the result in google.ie are shifting already….

  2. Wow I only posted this a few hours ago and this page is at #3 (here at least) for the term geansai gorm (sorry couldn’t resist!) :) Didn’t think Google was so quick to index this site. It probably won’t last there for long. :) mybluejumper is at #1 here at the moment.

  3. Tom maybe you should give it a try, it’s all for a bit of fun. It’s kept me occupied on the train today for 3 hours.

I don’t think (my) mybluejumper.com will be there for long, but I’ll take it while it lasts ;)
